I want to write a tremendous THANK YOU to the Twin Cities Ameritrash (TCAT) group!
If you’ve been following Man of Ages for a while, you know that community is the lifeblood of indie games. Over the past three years, the TCAT crew has been among the most wonderful supporters of me and my game, PsychScape Historical.
For those not in the deep end of the hobby, "Ameritrash" is a term of endearment. It stands for games that prioritize theme, drama, and cinematic moments over dry mechanics. TCAT embodies that spirit perfectly—loud, enthusiastic, and always focused on the story unfolding at the table.
I have to give a specific shout-out to Chad—or "EGG," as his TCAT jersey proudly names him.
Chad, you have been incredibly encouraging, supportive, and helpful to me personally. Inviting me to join the TCAT room at Con of the North 2026 to run my sessions was a highlight of the convention. The energy in that room is unmatched.
I also want to recognize a few others who made the weekend special:
"I really admire your enthusiasm and spirit of gaming by running games for everyone, from 8 to 80."
Beyond the support for my specific projects, what I admire most about TCAT is your sheer spirit. You aren’t just playing for yourselves; you are ambassadors for the hobby.
Seeing you run games for everyone—from 8-year-olds rolling their first dice to 80-year-olds veterans of the genre—was inspiring. You prove that high-conflict, thematic games can bring people together across every generation.
Thank you, TCAT, and thank you, Chad! You guys are the real deal.
— R.
